With 43% of energy consumption, the building industry is the second most energy-intensive sector in France, after transportation. However, at a time when the need to act in favor of the energy transition is becoming stronger, and when companies and local authorities are aware of their role in the matter, many of them feel helpless in how to achieve objectives of energy consumption reduction.

The challenges for asset managers

The July 2019 decree, known as the Tertiary Decree, requires each owner or user of a tertiary building of more than 1,000 square meters, on the one hand, to conduct an inventory and, on the other hand, to set up a virtuous trajectory. This decree requires a reduction in final energy consumption for all buildings subject to the obligation of at least 40% in 2030, 50% in 2040 and 60% in 2050, compared to a reference year chosen between 2010 and 2019.

Oxand solution for achieving energy efficiency objectives

Oxand solves the financial problems faced by all companies and local authorities in achieving their energy consumption reduction objectives.

By combining building energy performance improvement plans with maintenance plans, Oxand reduces its clients’ investments by 20% to achieve the same objectives. Through a predictive approach on asset ageing, asset portfolio managers can simulate and measure the impact of their decisions.

4 key steps by Oxand to optimize the energy transition:

  • Mapping the existing assets and more specifically the components that have an impact on energy consumption.
  • Projection of the evolution of the assets over time thanks to their predictive models; to anticipate the investments to be made with regard to the natural evolution of the components of each asset.
  • Definition of an optimized investment strategy, combining natural renewal of components with energy transition objectives to achieve targeted gains (e.g. in Kw/m2);
  • Monitoring the achievement of objectives over time, to correct trajectories if necessary, and integrate possible evolutions of property portfolio.

Today, Oxand supports its clients in setting up optimized trajectories for improving their energy performance and help them reduce the consumption of their buildings by an average of 51%.
