Rémy Jacquier : A software publisher, Oxand is the European leader in the Predictive Technology sector. The company specialises in the predictive maintenance and sustainable performance optimisation of real estate assets and infrastructures. Founded in 2002 following a strategic spin-off from EDF, Oxand has been building a unique database on the ageing and costs of buildings and infrastructures for over 18 years. This constitutes our predictive models, or “smart data“.

Oxand has an annual turnover of €14m and employ around 100 people, two thirds of whom are business consultants, data scientists, and experts in France, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

RJ : Oxand Simeo™ software digitalises maintenance and investment decision-making processes, thereby generating savings amounting to 30% for customers: lower total asset cost, greater availability, controlled risks, extended asset life and team productivity.
Oxand Simeo™ is easily deployed within organisations by collecting, selecting, organising and completing inventory and diagnostic data (asset condition and importance) from documentation, IS or IoT.
Oxand Simeo™ contains self-learning predictive smart data algorithms (> 10,000 predictive models) within its database, the only one of its kind in Europe and built up over more than 18 years.
These ageing and cost laws are derived from studies validated by internal and external experts and customer usage.
Individual users of our solution thus extract maximum value from data, focusing on the most useful piece of data and combining it with smart data. They can benchmark themselves based on best practices and quickly optimise their business expertise, processing times and anticipation when it comes to asset management.
Smart data are continuously improved and enriched through the pooling of feedback from individual users (>1,000 users). As a member of the “Oxand Simeo” club, each new user contributes to the improvement of the smart data and, in turn, benefits from contributions from the rest of the club.
Oxand Simeo™ offers its users a comprehensive software, data and business ecosystem hinged around the optimization of long-term maintenance and investment plans: inventory, diagnosis, operations, dashboards (BI via the Oxand Analytics option) and API connectors (from and towards the CMMS, IoT and BIM). In a matter of weeks, our customers have a decision-making tool facilitating the creation of a coherent, rationalised, innovative and feasible long-term plan.
RJ : In terms of profile and visibility, Systematic has clearly helped promote Oxand and its Oxand Simeo predictive maintenance technology for real estate and infrastructures.
Beyond that, teaming up with members of the Cluster for major contracts and within the context of our export development, particularly in Europe, has been a significant “plus” for our business.
And finally, our relationship with the Cluster has helped increase the value of Oxand Simeo by improving our links to the Deep Tech ecosystem in France, build partnerships around our roadmap and potentially conduct joint R&D projects.
RJ : Initially, for the period 2020-2022, our 5-year strategy is aimed at making our model scalable:
Beyond 2022, on the basis of a scalable model, we plan to expand our market coverage in mainland Europe and our functional coverage in terms of the energy transition.

‘’Smart Data’’ represents Oxand’s memory, a knowledge base centralised in a unique software solution. It makes it possible to determine the ageing of a particular asset, as well as its maintenance actions once it is incorporated in Oxand Simeo. From the combination of data and ageing laws, my IT team has developed algorithms to predict asset obsolescence.
Let’s take a roof as an example: once all the data relating to it have been entered, keeping things as simple as possible (characteristics, observed state, dimensions, importance), Oxand Simeo is capable, based on our existing knowledge, of predicting the life cycle of the asset and determining the point at which it becomes “risky”, depending on its importance. It then automatically plans maintenance actions on the basis of these criteria.
15 years of knowledge acquired from a broad variety of consultancy projects and long-term partnerships with our customers enable us to improve our algorithms on a daily basis and optimise our services. Oxand Simeo is an asset management solution providing an innovative and reliable vision of the maintenance actions to be established. In concrete terms, it’s all about predictive maintenance.
The knowledge bases that can be delivered with the tool concern the real estate sector, engineering structures and roads.
Substantive work has been conducted at Oxand to gather knowledge from multiple consultancy projects and make it self-supporting, and to enable us to deploy knowledge bases in 2020 related to the energy sector, the airport sector and water transport infrastructure.
Oxand helps some of its customers adapt knowledge bases to their specific needs and also works in partnership to support their creation when they do not form part of our core business.
The fact that Oxand Simeo has been deployed in countries like Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands as well as in the Middle East proves that it can be.
Knowledge base regionalisation projects to adapt to specific local conditions (materials and harshness of the environment) are overseen by our specialists in order to plan maintenance to correlate with the region in question.
Oxand is currently in the middle of an intensive deployment phase for this new Oxand Simeo SaaS platform. The technical department’s objective is to become even more agile in terms of rolling out our solution. In the medium term, this will enable us to provide our customers with a self-learning solution that will be based on the two most advanced fields of AI, machine learning and deep learning, for two purposes: to further accelerate the deployment phases and make the scenarios generated as close to reality as possible.
As a recognized manager and good communicator, I love to nurture the growth of projects and teams. Especially in my specialist field and passion: IT.
I began my career focusing on the purely technical side of things before moving into consultancy, helping companies through the digitalisation process. Since becoming Oxand’s Technical Director I have been responsible for creating and deploying the new Oxand Simeo SaaS platform.

Ces évolutions de vieillissement, OXAND les a intégrées depuis plus de 15 ans dans ses bases de connaissance. Constituées à la fois de lois de vieillissement, d’actions et de coûts de maintenance issus d’infrastructures du monde entier, ces bases de données permettent de recréer le cycle de vie des actifs à travers des simulations.
Le vieillissement peut être considéré à différents stades du cycle de vie d’un composant mais principalement pendant la phase d’exploitation et de maintenance. Les lois de vieillissement fournissent de l’information pour l’évaluation des risques et l’optimisation de la valeur.
La simulation du vieillissement des composants permet d’identifier les probabilités de défaillances et de planifier les dépenses de maintenance prédictive (OPEX/CAPEX).
