Interview – Oxand offers decision-making software for energy savings
Oxand’s software solution helps private and public real estate managers achieve energy savings.
The Tertiary Eco-Efficiency Scheme (DEET), or tertiary decree, requires companies in the tertiary sector to reduce their energy consumption by 60% by 2050, with a first step of 40% in 2030. In response to the emergency and and the complexity for companies that do not know how to reduce the energy consumption of their buildings, Oxand enables efficient energy transition planning.
Diagnosis and action plan for effective energy transition management
Oxand offers decision-making software that enables companies to know where to make effective changes or renovations to reduce their energy consumption, while taking into account the age of components. “We help our customers make the best decisions for their energy transition,” explains Antoine Mouchot, Chief Revenue Officer at Oxand. We draw up an inventory of their components and are able to tell them where to invest and what to change in order to reduce their energy consumption. We simulate different scenarios of improvement plans to optimize investments. In this way, our clients have a powerful management tool for managing their assets on a sustainable basis.
During the inventory, Oxand specifies the age of the components and their level of energy performance. Using this information, the software, having obtained data provided by the owners and non-structural data, establishes the best projection plans of energy gains.
“On average, we are able to propose plans to opimize 51% of our clients’ energy consumption”, says Antoine Mouchot.
An ambition to deploy across Europe
Oxand’s strength is its ability to determine the best investment plan by combining ageing of components and energy performance. “Very often, companies have a plan to manage the ageing of their components, which is very expensive, and another team is dedicated to reducing energy consumption. By bringing these two challenges together, Oxand optimizes energy efficiency by up to 20% and enables asset managers to make savings,” explains Antoine Mouchot.
Oxand is already present in the Netherlands and Switzerland. The team is organising itself to expand in Europe and support the ecological transition movement internationally. “We are ready for other countries,” concludes Antoine Mouchot.
43 % of energy consumption in France comes from the tertiary sector. The ecological transition and the reduction of CO2 emissions are major challenges for companies, accelerated by the tertiary sector decree. Oxand enables companies to carry out energy simulations in order to understand how much it will cost to achieve their energy consumption reduction objectives and, above all, which components of their infrastructure to invest in.
