Internships and research projects

Every year, Oxand offers paid internships to undergraduate students from around the world. Our internships provide an excellent opportunity to gain professional and workplace experience. Interns are assigned a mentor for the duration of their placement in order to ensure that the relationship provides maximum mutual benefit.

The proposed internship subjects are based on the core concepts of the work that Oxand does, and so may include, for example: risk analysis, structural ageing simulation, environmental impact studies, and maintenance optimisation. The projects are all related to high-stakes infrastructure: nuclear power plants, hydroelectric dams, port structures, bridges, tunnels, petroleum wells, natural gas reservoirs…

Interns will participate in Oxand projects by working directly with the project-managing engineer, while gradually developing a more autonomous working pattern as the internship progresses. The proposed internships may involve contributing to studies for clients, or internal projects (e.g.: R&D). In many cases, interns are fulfilling a course requirement to complete an internship or a research project with a private company.

As well as possessing the necessary technical competence, candidates must show the ability to work independently and in a team, bring interest and enthusiasm to their work, and be able to write technical reports and present results to a high standard. A basic level of French is required for internships taking place in the headquarters at Fontainebleau.
