Netherlands – Maintenance contract Waterways Brabant 2011-2016

In the Netherlands, Oxand’s Dutch subsidiary (ex-Iter Fidelis) has joined forces with J. Van Esch BV to manage a large waterway network. Rijkswaterstaat’s assets comprise 200km of waterways, used for commercial and recreational purposes, along with 21 locks and over 70 bridges.

Oxand is responsible for the waterway’s maintenance, covering project, contract and risk management. These missions include making recommendations on improving processes, ensuring safety and the continual availability for all ship traffic, and leveraging risk-based inspection methods.

Environmental management was an important factor in winning the contract and Oxand has been able to incorporate the ideas of J. Van Esch BV for safeguarding and encouraging a number of rare plant species found along the canal banks: a promising collaboration. (2011)
